'喝酒' as a word? 'hējiǔ' is probably non-standard/nonsensical pinyin?
[edit]'喝酒' as a word is not present in the following dictionaries:
- 汉典
- 现代汉语词典第7版 (A Dictionary of Current Chinese, Seventh edition) page 523
- 现代汉语规范词典第3版 (A Standard Dictionary of Current Chinese, Third edition) page 525
- 教育部國語辭典簡編本
- 教育部重編國語辭典修訂本
- 辞海第6版 (Cihai, Sixth edition) page 0859
Therefore 'hējiǔ' is probably a non-standard or a nonsensical pinyin; should probably be 'hē jiǔ'? --Geographyinitiative (talk) 01:46, 10 November 2018 (UTC) My reasoning relies on the idea that 1) this phrase is so common that it wouldn't have passed unnoticed by the editors of these dictionaries and 2) 喝 is really referring to drinking and not some abstract meaning and 酒 is really referring to alcohol and not some abstract drink. I was just thinking that the 酒 of 喝酒 may be a dummy placeholder noun, but I don't think this VO has been abstracted to that degree yet. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 04:55, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
