Well, clearly, this is hashka "measles" + -p "thing". 😄
More seriously, your suggested derivation is an interesting possibility. That said, I'm not sure that ka is used as a suffixing element, and the berries don't grow on the top of the bush? Worth exploring, at any rate. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 19:33, 16 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
