Conjugation patterns and currency of use

@Eirikr Koujien/Daijirin/Nihon Kokugo Daijiten treat this as a "自ラ四" yodan (=non-modern?) verb. JMDICT and the Daijisen disagrees, and results can be found in Google News. Why is this? —Suzukaze-c (talk) 03:47, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

• @Suzukaze-c: If I had to guess, it might be because of the corpora used to compile the dictionaries, and/or editor discretion. google:"清まろう" shows examples of usage, and while rare, google books:"清まろう" seems to find four hits, enough to meet CFI. My hunch is that the volitional of this verb is uncommon enough in modern usage that qualifying as "modern" might depend on different thresholds in the respective criteria for inclusion used by each dictionary's editorial board. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │^{Tala við mig} 06:47, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
