This seems to be garbage. "かな" is "kana" in any case. Delete? — Hippietrail 05:23, 15 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Word's not emphasized.
[edit]In the second example here both original word and it's translation aren't emphisized with bold. --NikKotovski (talk) 10:59, 29 May 2016 (UTC)

Ety 1 (哉) and Ety 2
[edit]There seems to be confusion in the definition and usex of Ety 1. 哉 is an archaic word used for wonderous declaration (善き哉!); the other is a modern (as noted in the etymology) colloquial word used for wondering about uncertainty. @Poketalker, Eirikr, LittleWhole —Suzukaze-c (talk) 08:50, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Suzukaze-c: Re: the etym of the spelling, see also the KDJ entry in Kotobank. Looking at that etym section in our entry, I think it needs an "archaic" label. Per that same KDJ entry, 「現代語でも和歌・俳句などによく用いられる。」 So it sounds like this usage is not "obsolete". ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 18:27, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
