Possibility of a direct etymon

[edit]

@ZxxZxxZ, do you know of any Early Modern Persian / Classical Persian word somewhat like "dēgčah", equivalent to دیگ‎ (pot) +‎ ـچه (diminutive suffix‎), that may mean "a cauldron" or "a cooking pot"? If there indeed be such a word, then the Bengali word might have been a direct borrowing from this. Thank you for the attention! —Lbdñk (talk) 19:32, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yes, the word is دیگچه (pot). --Z 08:15, 9 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
