Directly from English?

Hi @Msasag, I just wanted to know whether "electric rickshaw" is the only meaning of Assamese টমটম, (as against Bengali টমটম, which has "horsecart" as the original meaning). If that indeed be the only meaning, then the Assamese word must have been borrowed via Bengali, and not directly from English. Thanks. —Lbdñk (talk) 18:24, 27 November 2019 (UTC)

@Lbdñk I just checked Aadarxa dictionary (Assamese), it says টমটম means "a carriage without hood drawn by a horse". I didn't know this before. Msasag (talk) 09:04, 28 November 2019 (UTC)
