Etymology

It is in no way understandable, what the alleged Skr source should semantically have to do with the Hnd/Urdu word. HJJHolm 06:53, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

No intelligent answer? Seems not to be possible, thus it appears unintelligent!

Monier Williams has "ashes (used as a preservative)" among the senses for "रक्षा", though the sense is labeled "L." to indicate he could only find it in lexicographic works. Chuck Entz (talk) 07:30, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
