Sanskrit etymology

(from Talk:पलक) most sites dont have the etymology [1] doesnt have the etymology, [2] doesnt have the etymology either, the Reconstruction:Proto-Indo-European/bʰelǵ- says its descendent from it but "bʰelǵ-" would actually yield भल्ज्- (bhalj-) or भर्ज्- (bharj-) not with ph and k, there is the Malayalam word പലക (palaka) whose entry says its from Portuguese placa so could it all be ultimately from pt?
