Talk:देखना
8th December 2020
[edit]@AryamanA There are a couple of verbs with with than 4 verbs in their verb set, but only 4 can be added as of now. In this case there would be: दिखना, देखना, दिखलाना, दिखाना, and दिखवाना. How do you interpret दिखलाना? Do you think it's synonymous with either दिखाना or दिखवाना? I feel it kind of conveys both their meanings but along with that it has a reflexive sense to it, similar to how बचाना and पिटाना are used exclusively in a reflexive manner. There's also दिखलवाना.
Also, another question, do you think there is a difference of nuance between खुलवाना and खोलवाना? I do interpret them differently, खुलवाना focusses on the thing that is going to be opened, while खोलवाना focusses on the person who is going to do it. It means the same at the end but do you see this nuance difference as well, or is it just me? (Both verbs are very commonly used). Itsmeyash31 (talk) 21:23, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Itsmeyash31: I agree on the difference of nuance. Probably, that is explained by khul- being the intransitive and khol- being the transitive. Maybe a usage note would be good.
- I'll add more slots to the template. —AryamanA (मुझसे बात करें • योगदान) 23:43, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
