- The Devanagari spelling at IndoWordNet is जेवण
- and the Romi spelling in Dantas is Jevonn
- which matches the Devanagari spelling. CDIAL 5268 jēmana has:
- Ko. jevaṇa ʻ a meal ʼ
- so it's probably not borrowed from Marathi. Is
Southern
needed in the language header, and is ņ used fornn
? Kutchkutch (talk) 09:11, 4 February 2021 (UTC)- @Kutchkutch: Yeah the correct form in जेवण. I haven't ever heard anyone say "जेवाण" so I'm inclined to delete it (I'm not very familiar with "southern Konkani"; maybe what the IP is referring to is Mangalorean Konkani, although Southern Konkani can be any dialect between Karwari and Cochin Konkani.) Even if it is indeed pronounced "जेवाण",a separate entry is not warranted, in my opinion. The Bangalore IP who created these entries is treating Southern Konkani as a separate language but there is no reason to do so. And I've not seen ņ being used either. -- 𝓑𝓱𝓪𝓰𝓪𝓭𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓪(𝓽𝓪𝓵𝓴) 09:24, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
