What's the standard vocalisation of مملکت (/⁠mmlkt⁠/) in Urdu?

  • mamlukat* / mamlakat# (Farhang-i-Asifiya, Shakespear*, Platts*, Qureshi*, Rekhta#)
  • mamlukat (UDB)
  • mamlakat (Feroz-ul-Lughat)
  • mumlikat

Personally, I've commonly heard mumlikat, and rarely mamlakat, but not the first one.

In Persian, apparently it's mamlikat, but in Classical Persian it was mamlakat, taken from Arabic mamlaka. نعم البدل (talk) 18:19, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
