I have never heard of this word. The etymology appears to be completely wrong, as well.Do mt 06:09, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
- Why is it about the etymology that you question? The base verb is فرس (fárasa), which means to kill, to tear at a prey. It is well known that the noun فرس (fáras), horse, comes from that same root, because of the connection between men and their horses on the one hand, and their prey (فريسة) on the other. There is an online dictionary that you might check at فروسية. Besides that fact that it is in all of my dictionaries, both Arabic to English and English to Arabic, it gets 18,000 google hits. Other related terms are فراسة (farāsa, horsemanship), فروسة (furūsa, horsemanship), amd فارس (fāris, horseman). —Stephen 06:43, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
