As the translation (of me and of Gerrit Bos) tells, “milk”. I doubt that it existed in the sense of yoghurt, this is rather a Levantine colloquialism, and this quote is Maimonides, an Andalusi, someone from the other side of the Arabic language area. He used the word مَاسْت (māst) for yoghurt. Plus the sense “yoghurt” does not make sense in this context since رَائِب (rāʔib) is not made of yoghurt but could itself be the basis for it, and, considering systematic interpretation, the section starts with a catchword of a more general term like then “fish”, “honey”, “vegetables” etc. Fay Freak (talk) 20:18, 18 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
