It means more or less nothing to simply take the consonants of a word and say "from the root X-Y-Z". Probably there's a relation with شاطِئ (šāṭiʔ) (where we also say "from the root X-Y-Z"). In that case it might be originally šaṭʼ. Arabic is not a language without a history. 2.203.201.61 22:13, 4 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
