Crossbow

Is the sense "crossbow" actually attested? It most commonly refers to the artillrey. --Z 08:52, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

@ZxxZxxZ: I don’t have any doubts about it; the sense of a cannon and a musical instruments are transferred. I must have read some particular books about the weaponry of the pre-powder era, in 2019 when I created it. How do you explain the senses of “spring” in Arabic and Ottoman which are much used to this day without it anyway? Fay Freak (talk) 08:57, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
