I think that some of the etymology sections are a bit redundant here. I realize that there is a lot happening and do concede the need for multiple etymology sections. However, I think that one per construction would be enough (i.e. there should not be two etymology sections which say "piel of" the same root.) So, for example, the obsolete verse final form should be noted in the first etymology section, in my opinion. -Atelaes λάλει ἐμοί 18:49, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ideally, each construction (paal, piel, etc.) would have its own Etymology section, and that's it. (Well, usually. Exceptions might be made for verbs like כבד, which means both "sweep" and "honor" in the same construction (piel), and, I'm guessing, has two different etymologies.) But that's ideally. Practically, it's not a good solution, as we have no other ELE-compliant way of splitting up different spellings-with-vowels of the same spelling-without-vowels word. Since, of the ten words listed currently under different etymologies on this page, no two have the same spelling-with-vowels, there is simply no way to split them up except to list them under different Etymology headers. (Well, another ELE-compliant way would be to have them on separate pages, of course, but that's not the convention here.) I'd love to hear other solutions, and they'll have a wider audience at Wiktionary talk:About Hebrew.—msh210 18:57, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Note that the above is no longer true. See {{he-wv}}.—msh210 (talk) 16:00, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
