@Wikitiki89: Why does he use pani to refer to Sholem Aleykhem? I thought pan was male and pani female. I don't want to create entries for them until I have that sorted out. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 00:55, 20 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Metaknowledge: I actually read about this in the introduction to an English translation I have. It said the that Tevye would not have been familiar with the details of Polish grammar, thus confusing panie (the masculine vocative) with pani (the feminine nominative and vocative). I'm not really sure whether פּאַניע (panye) is actually used in Yiddish, nor am I sure whether it was common to use פּאַני (pani). --WikiTiki89 01:33, 20 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
I'd better ask. Have you resolved the other things I wasn't sure about, or should I ask about those as well? —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 02:19, 20 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
Which things? --WikiTiki89 02:39, 20 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
The declension of schwa-final adjectives, I suppose. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 02:56, 20 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
Oh that's what you meant. Yes, I still want to know. --WikiTiki89 03:57, 20 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
