The construction forms בית-חולֵי is theoretical and never used in practice (not even in very formal texts). For example, a hospital for policemen would be called "בית חולים לשוטרים" and never "בית-חולי שוטרים". A hospital for the residents of Los Angeles would be called "בית-החולים של לוס אנג'לס" and never "בית-חולי לוס אנג'לס". Drork 19:57, 18 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Since when is this formation attested? If modern, it's probably a loan translation of German Krankenhaus. But perhaps it's old; the derivation is fairly obvious. 2.203.201.61 09:32, 21 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
