Сорочка translated as shirt

After using this term in front of two Russian women who are native speakers to mean shirt, I was laughed at. It's more like a night gown than anything. If you go to google images and put in сорочка, the majority of the images that appear are of women dressed in a night gown. 47.208.234.200 16:15, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
