Russian etymology

[edit]

"Occurrence of /v/ indicates a relatively late borrowing."

Does it? It has been pronounced as a "v" in Greek long before Russian emerged as a spoken language, that's why, in Cyrillic, "В" is pronounced as "v", the change had already happened before any contact with the Slavs. --Antondimak (talk) 09:09, 23 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
