@Atitarev, Cinemantique, Wikitiki89, Wanjuscha ruwikt says са̀мо- even though it violates the normal rule about this, where secondary stress normally occurs only when 3 or more unstressed syllables intervene between сам- and the accent. Is са̀мо- possible? Benwing2 (talk) 22:45, 25 June 2017 (UTC)
- No sec. stress here. It must be a mistake in ruwikt. BTW, does Wanjuscha ever respond to your pings? Maybe he is annoyed? Just saying. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 00:24, 26 June 2017 (UTC)
- Hmm, normally Wanjuscha doesn't respond to my pings so maybe I should take him out. Benwing2 (talk) 00:40, 26 June 2017 (UTC)
- "са̀моконтро́ль, -я" (Орфоэпический словарь русского языка, под ред. Н. А. Еськовой, 10-е изд., 2015, →ISBN.--Cinemantique (talk) 05:15, 26 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Cinemantique Thanks. Do you pronounce it that way yourself or have you really heard anyone pronouncing it so? It sounds unnatural to me. If the answer is yes, we can add as an alternative, I won't insist. @Benwing2. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 05:49, 26 June 2017 (UTC)
- I'm not sure, I just use reliable sources. Secondary stress doesn't mean that it must be, it means that it can be. It's interesting how Большой орфоэпический словарь русского языка describes secondary stress:

во̀донепроница́емый;
водоизмери́тельный, обычно произносится с дополнительным ударением: во̀доизмери́тельный;
водозащи́тный, может произноситься с дополнительным ударением: во̀дозащи́тный.
Unfortunately, I don't have this dictionary.--Cinemantique (talk) 06:01, 26 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Cinemantique, Benwing2, Wikitiki89 I noticed sometimes dictionaries have weird information. IMO, диета shouldn't be pronounced диэта but Ivanova says so. I'm not familiar with Yeskova's work but as I said, I can be flexible. BTW, no problem with your examples above.--Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 07:24, 26 June 2017 (UTC)
- The secondary stress seems strange to me. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it is a calque from English. --WikiTiki89 15:55, 26 June 2017 (UTC)
