[edit]In ticket:2024080410004938, a reader submitted that this definition is incorrect. Their rationale seamed reasonable. It appears this is a word, just not with that definition. They could be wrong, but their claim seemed reasonable so I removed what appeared to be an incorrect definition. The short version is that this is supposedly about some small meats, not about the disease smallpox. @Surjection I see you reverted it, are you suggesting that it is not blatantly inaccurate? Your reasoning is that no one on this project can read the tickets? According to the list of accounts on vrt-wiki there are at least 5 Wiktionary agents. Has this project given up on using VRT entirely? It appears that your primary contact information from Wiktionary:Contact us sends your readers wanting to report by email to that VRT ticket queue. I've reopened the ticket, perhaps one of your agents can deal with this now. Xaosflux (talk) 12:55, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- Making content changes on a wiki based on tickets in a system that few users have access to is wholly inappropriate. Any removal of senses or entries must go through proper procedures, such as WT:RFVN in this case. — SURJECTION / T / C / L / 13:11, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- Will leave this to one of your VRT agents. If you entire project is no longer using VRT, your contact page or mail target should be corrected to no longer send readers there. Xaosflux (talk) 14:27, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux I'm not sure what VRT is, but it should never be used for content issues like this, as it lacks transparency. As Surjection says, project policy should be followed. Theknightwho (talk) 15:20, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Theknightwho from what I can gather, a reader tried to raise a factual issue with this entry that they claim is causing real world problems. The reader would certainly have no idea what the bureaucratic processes of the project is when reporting a content quality issue. They seem to have some additional technical issues updating the page as well. I attempted to boldly update the page - but certainly accept that I was reverted and brought this to the talk page. This situation may highlight a larger issue, that if enwikt doesn't want people to use VRT the first section of Wiktionary:Contact us may need to be revisited, because that is where emails to info-en@wiktionary.org seem to be going. - @Xaosflux In such a situation, I would suggest that anyone actioning the ticket from VRT should go through the local wiki's processes. I appreciate that's what you were trying to do, but bear in mind that Wiktionary and Wikipedia operate quite differently in this particular respect, as we have a well-trodden policy on the removal of definitions to which WT:BOLD does not apply, as it's overridden by WT:RFV and WT:RFD (as applicable). Theknightwho (talk) 15:54, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, yes I'm very infrequent here on wikt - mostly knew to not get in a revert war and bring this to discussion. I started looking at the RFV process, but didn't have time to research the workflow. Xaosflux (talk) 18:01, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, it seems this is actually a term for chicken pox, but I will refer it to WT:RFVN, which should clear things up. Theknightwho (talk) 16:06, 13 August 2024 (UTC)

- Pings to @Whym and @Imetsia, the only VRT agents listed for the wikt queue that have also recently contributed on this project. Xaosflux (talk) 14:34, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- I will update the user on VRT once the RFV has been completed. Is that all you wanted me to do, @Xaosflux? Imetsia (talk (more)) 16:35, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Imetsia that's fine, just was trying to help process the queue. Xaosflux (talk) 18:01, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
