(Notifying Atitarev, Bogorm, Bezimenen, Nauka, Ted Masters, Kiril kovachev): Please review the example sentences. The ones that aren't given with a particular source are sentences I made up with the help of Google translate, and might be wrong. Benwing2 (talk) 03:48, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Benwing2: Hi. Good job. It looks very good to me but native speakers may have more to say. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 05:03, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Benwing2: All examples sound fine. Безименен (talk) 07:04, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Benwing2: Hello! The first example is wrong. The correct pronoun here is когото: Мъжът, когото видяхте вчера....--Nauka (talk) 21:10, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
- (Notifying Atitarev, Bogorm, Bezimenen, Nauka, Ted Masters, Kiril kovachev): Are you sure? RBE gives examples like this:
- Бозавите му потури бяха изтъркани, ..; беше и с високи калцуни, каквито никой вече не носеше. ("His gray cheeks were worn out, ..; he also wore high tights that no one wore anymore")
- Бащината ми къща не беше от ония стари, ниски, схлупени къщурки, каквито имаше доста в нашата махала. ("My father's house was not one of those old, low, dilapidated cottages that there were a lot of in our neighborhood.")
- Вие сте се оскърбили от думите ми в градината, вие сте им дали смисъл оскърбителен за вас, какъвто съвсем нямат. ("You have been offended by my words in the garden, you have given them a meaning that is offensive to you, which they do not have at all.")
- These are all uses of какъвто as a relative pronoun, just like my example. The only difference I can see is that the examples use a relative pronoun referring to an object rather than a person. Benwing2 (talk) 21:19, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Benwing2: If the intended meaning is just whom then User:Nauka is right. Мъжът, какъвто видяхте вчера, literally conveys 'The man such as the one whom you saw yesterday'. Such a construction normally expects some contrastive information, not declerative. I struggle to think of a better example, though. Probably:
- (Notifying Atitarev, Bogorm, Bezimenen, Nauka, Ted Masters, Kiril kovachev): Are you sure? RBE gives examples like this:
Онзи мекушав мъж, какъвто помните от преди, вече е минало. = The soft/weak man that you remember from before (i.e. that you are familiar with) is now a history.
- sounds a little better, but it's still not (absolutely) perfect. Безименен (talk) 21:48, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
