@Benwing2 I stuffed up the declension here. It should be as in ruwiki - short forms as follows: masc - (missing), neut -занято́, fem - занята́, pl - заняты́. Not sure, how to use the template for this. The same pattern applies to золотой, for which we don't show short forms. ruwiki marks the short forms with * (awkward usage). --Anatoli T. - @Atitarev You get this sort of pattern by default if you use accent class b with adjectives in -ой. Most of the adjectives in -ой seem to behave this way. I rendered the note as "rare" instead of "awkward" but I can change that if you want. Benwing2 (talk) 16:59, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks. "Rare" is fine, although the feminine form coincides with its synonym and doesn't sound awkward or rare.--Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 20:51, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- That could be fixed with an override, if you want. Benwing2 (talk) 20:56, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, please. золотой can stay as is, IMO. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 21:45, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Atitarev I'm removing the short declensions here except the feminine. I made a decision awhile ago that we shouldn't normally show the forms labeled "затрудн." by Zaliznyak, treating them as if they don't exist. In practice we've already been following this, as most of the time we e.g. treat nouns that are uncountable as singular-only rather than giving them a plural and labeling it "rare and awkward" or whatever. It would be a lot of work to fix all the entries to account for затрудн. forms, and it's not clear to me that it would be all that useful. For example, we'd have to include short forms for lots of adjectives in -ой and -ский and label them "rare and awkward" (or whatever), which seems wrong. Occasionally if I feel the need to remark on затрудн. forms (e.g. if they are irregular), I do this in a usage note. Benwing2 (talk) 00:24, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
