Every single comparative form ending in -ее also has a shorter form in -ей. They are adverbs, not adjectives but are also used instead of comparative forms of most adjectives (which lack comparative forms because they are formed from adverbs). See my edit but this may not be the perfect way. It's best to describe it as "(alt.) comparative of живо", not of живой. --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 04:37, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
