Fully pronouncing all the consonants seems a tongue-twister for Russians, besides the first "r" is not pronounced in non-rhotic English. It's safe to say that the first "р" (Cyrillic r) is normally silent but is pronounced occasionally. Anatoli 00:40, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

@Benwing2 The first listed pronunciation doesn't actually have a secondary accent (no need for disyllabic words) but there's no reduction, like this "гё̂(р)лфрэ́нд". Not sure if it will work with "ё". --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 07:00, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

The problem is this: If the word has ё and all other vowels are э, then ru-translit thinks it's a monosyllabic word (because ru-common converts э to ɛ before calling the translit module, and the code in the translit module only knows about Cyrillic vowels, not ɛ) so it ends up unstressed with my recent changes to ru-translit. The fix is to add Latin vowels to the list of vowels used in ru-translit. Benwing2 (talk) 07:05, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
