Is it really inconceivable? Is there no word for a woman or girl which is grammatically masculine? (see e.g. Icelandic (deprecated template usage) kvenmaður, Old English wīfmann) Even if there is no such word for a female specifically, there could also be words which can describe persons of either sex; general words meaning „human“ or a type of animal, descriptive words like fool, poor thing, etc., e.g. Icelandic (deprecated template usage) ræfill, which can equally signify a woman, even appearing in combinations such as (deprecated template usage) stelpuræfill. Also consider the seahorse and pipefish, in which the females lay their eggs in the males, who then become pregnant. PierreAbbat 15:20, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
