Does the word челобитье descend from битьё? There is no ё at its end, therefore I prudently inserted it in the section related terms of бить. The uſer hight Bogorm converſation 09:38, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Битьё was written and pronounced as битье until 1800s. See this Wikipedia section on the letter ё. Perhaps челобитье is derived from битье, after all. --Vahag 21:49, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
