When was this term borrowed from Italian?
[edit]To add to the "Etymology" section of this entry: when this term was borrowed from Italian. Is it possible that the Greeks adopted the Italian term "feta" for their cheese in the 17th century (a time of significant Italian influence in Greece, particularly in the Ionian Islands, which were under Venetian rule)?
