Does this really occur in only one word, or do we just have only one listed example? If it really occurs in just a single word, I doubt that the Greeks would have ever conceived of this as a distinct, separable prefix. Soap (talk) 17:52, 3 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

I see now that there are also να- and νη-, where the να- morpheme seems to also have a reflex of /nē/. I would consider these fossils in the tradition of archaic English nill "unwilling". Soap (talk) 17:58, 3 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
