Etymology

[edit]

A modern Greek word can't be derived from an obscure language dead two thousand years ago like Venetan. My Greek dictionaries say this word is from "βενετικό coverta", which obviously refers to Venetan, a modern language close to Italian or even a dialect of Italian. This, too, confirms κουβέρτα is from Italian/Venetian.

el.wikt is using the right vec code, but their wikipedia link is wrong. --Vahagn Petrosyan 13:03, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
