Calque?
[edit]If εντάξει is a univerbation of the Ancient Greek phrase ἐν τάξει, it cannot at the same time also be a calque of German in Ordnung. Or is the claim that Ancient Greek ἐν τάξει is a calque of German in Ordnung? That must then be a very Old German expression! --Lambiam 17:51, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
According to Peter Mackridge (2012), "“Omileite... anglika?” English influences in contemporary Greek",[1] which appears to be a reliable source, the phrase εν τάξει is Katharevousa, a calque from German purified by clothing it in Ancient Greek morphological form. --Lambiam 08:28, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
