Regional
[edit]MDA2 gives this as regional (which I've copied over) but it is in fact the only word of its synonym group that is in my active vocabulary. Might just be my family's regionalect though. — Fytcha〈 T | L | C 〉 17:27, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- The variant șalotă is much more common than eșalot, so I'm inclined to believe that it might not be as regional as MDA2 makes it out to be. Robbie SWE (talk) 17:57, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- Maybe they assumed it to be regional (Transylvanian?) as it is a German borrowing for a concept that already had a word? I have no opinion on this honestly, I'm fine with it either way. Maybe @Bogdan has some more information? — Fytcha〈 T | L | C 〉 18:27, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
