Talk:łaʼ

Can this also be a shortened form of łáaʼii (as stated at Talk:łaʼtsʼáadah)? 71.66.97.228 07:55, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
- It is going too far to say that it is a shortened form of łáaʼii. It is related form and it is shorter, but it is not a shortened form in the same fashion that TV is a shortened form of television. łáaʼii is a cardinal number, łaʼ is not. łaʼ is more of a pronoun or determiner. —Stephen (Talk) 00:53, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, should łáaʼii be added as a "see also," then? 71.66.97.228 02:28, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
- It could be, but I think I would put it under Related terms. —Stephen (Talk) 07:51, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Can this also mean "one," "a," "someone," or "the other one"? 71.66.97.228 09:26, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
I just saw the word ła' given in a Facebook posting. The problem is that if you copy and paste it into Wiktionary this entry doesn't come up. Should there be a redirect or some software that allows people who copy and paste from websites that don't use the same Unicode character for the apostrophe to get to the correct Wiktionary entries? 173.89.236.187 14:26, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- I don’t think redirects would be a good idea. Wiktionary allows a few redirects, but generally does not like them. I think that there is a way to tell the search software that ', ’, and ʼ are all equivalent, which would allow searching for ła' to find łaʼ, but I don’t know how or where that might be accomplished. Ask about this at WT:GP. Those are the software guys. —Stephen (Talk) 07:25, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
