I wonder: when did the spelling variants elfvarne/älfvarne for the definite plural vanish? \Mike 08:40, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

That's a good question. 1st ed. Nordisk familjebok used elfvarna in 1888, but there are cases of elfvarne in Svenska familj-journalen from 1878. But you can also find älfvarne, so there must be a huge overlap. If the template had parameters for which plural ending (-er/-ar/-or) and definite (-arna/-arne) then we wouldn't need so many different templates. --LA2 08:56, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
