Etymology
[edit]From kana initials of 多田野 (Tadano, a surname) + 表記 (hyōki, “notation”). 多田野 refers to Kazuhito Tadano, a Japanese professional baseball player who was involved in a gay porn video scandal, thus in Internet discussions his name was sometimes written this way to avoid explicit mentioning.
