[edit]Spelling of "Sweden" in the Danish language transitioned from the Danish word "Sverrig" to the accepted "Sverige" used in all of Scandinavia in the early 20th century. Listed as valid in the Ordbog over det danske sprog (ODS) until 1950.
Usage examples include Hans Christian Andersen's 1851 novella I Sverrig (In Sweden) [1] and the 1907 silent film Stenindustri i Sverrig (Stone Industry in Sweden). [2]
