[edit]- A market town in County Durham, England, known as Stockton for short. Formerly a Metropolitan Borough, and merged into the County Borough of Teesside between 1968 and 1974.
- A borough created in 1974 as part of Cleveland County, becoming a unitary authority in 1996 within Tees Valley region, and split between the ceremonial counties of County Durham and North Yorkshire. The River Tees acts as the boundary between the two halves.
