  1. A village north-west of New Galloway, Dumfries and Galloway council area, Scotland, historically in Kirkcudbrightshire (OS grid ref NX6281).

      St John was the patron saint of the Knights Hospitallers - the medieval religious order - who once owned the land on which Dalry lies. Because of this, the full name of the village is St John's Town of Dalry.
