[edit]- The definition given is for Salsola sensu stricto. Formerly included in sections of Salsola were species now included in the genera: Kali (for Salsola sect. Kali), Turania (for Salsola sect. Sogdiana), Xylosalsola (for Salsola sect. Coccosalsola subsect. Arbuscula), Caroxylon (for Salsola sect. Caroxylon), and Kaviria (for Salsola sect. Belanthera).
