SG as an abbreviation from Swiss German (the first keyboard layout to use this feature) combined with abbreviation CAPS from Caps Lock.

  1. (computing) A Windows keyboard feature that strictly produces an uppercase version of a letter whereas Shift produces an unrelated symbol.
