[edit]From Latin Reccesuindi, genitive of Reccesuindus,[1] from a Suevic and/or Gothic personal name, from a compound *Rīkjaswinþaz, from Proto-Germanic *rīkiją (“rulership”) and *swinþaz (“strong”).[2]
