Etymology
[edit]From Old High German rehho, from Proto-Germanic *rakō, *rekô (“rake”). Cognate with German Rechen, English rake, Dutch riek.
The expected form is Riech with the development as in briechen etc. The now predominant form Reech probably goes back to a local variant.
