Old English tēon unattested?

[edit]

The Proto-Germanic page previously marked *tēon with an asterisk, but Kroonen doesn't. Is this a mistake on his part? — 69.120.64.15 23:08, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Since there's already an entry for the Old English, and since such a reconstruction wouldn't make sense given the way Kroonen's comparisons are presented, I've assumed it's not just a ghost word. Rather, the derivation of the neuter a-stem nouns from the masculine an-stems doesn't seem warranted by the sources. — 69.120.64.15 23:30, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
