Occurrences in North Germanic

This term may not be only limited only to West Germanic since Guus Kroonen cites potential decendants of this term in North Germanic in the following article on page 21. (https://web.archive.org/web/20171110004825/http://nors.ku.dk/ansatte/?pure=files/35220983/elfdalian.pdf) I just discovered another citation for North Germanic reflexes of this term under Kroonen 2013.[1]

That would make it cognate with Westrobothnian Lua error in Module:parameters at line 360: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "gmq-bot" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E.; the Old Norse etymon listed for that entry (kæsir) is also in the link you shared. I'd say there's enough North Germanic evidence to justify creating a page for Proto-Germanic *kāsijaz, if only there was an easy definition for it. West Germanic derivatives mean "cheese"; North Germanic derivatives mean "rennet" (in Westrobothnian) or "abomasum" (in Elfdalian). I haven't a clue what standard operating procedure is in this case. 10:04, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
