The Mehri entry "kawb" - said "Script needed"

  • Mehri: [script needed] (kawb)

However Mehri is an Oral language, there's no "Mehri Script" yet. (some field linguists report adaptation of an arabic based orthography in "diaspora" gulf communities, mainly online, but there's no orthography, thus, I guess the "academic semitic" orthography should do, which is the case here) — This unsigned comment was added by 77.139.176.149 (talk) at 20:13, 23 August 2018 (UTC).Reply

@Metaknowledge: The observation of the recurrence of -b in the end of animal names, including quadriliteral ones, is interesting, which is better than tentative. I do not have the knowledge yet to go back to Afro-Asiatic however.
Regarding the comment of IP above, I would have already added Latin script for Mehri to Module:languages/data3/g, recently Rhemmiel (talkcontribs) has added Mehri entries in Latin script and it is true that those people’s language basically has no script other than the academic Latin one and the Arabic script is used if one tells speakers to use it of course.
