Regarding supposed Nganasan, Enets, and Forest Nenets descendants

[edit]

I've decided to remove the aforementioned entries that are listed under Janhunen (1977)'s reconstruction, since I've looked over the materials for each of the respective languages and I have found no words that match.

Each of the languages' words for ‘fall/autumn’ (as well as ‘year’) are clearly unrelated to PSam *ërö ~ *ërǝjǝj:

  • Nganasan: (fall/autumn) ӈитү/ӈүтү, ӈитүо/ӈүтүо; (year) хүо
  • Enets: (fall/autumn) F ɔtuz, T [not found]; (year) F pɔ, T pɔa
  • Forest Nenets: (fall/autumn) мыԓичу; (year) по

Furthermore, Aikio (2020)'s draft of Proto-Uralic does not include any of these languages under *e̮δi[1] (using his notation).
