Initial vowel

Thorpe actually reconstructs *ti(j)U, which implies the reconstruction was probably influenced by Japanese. Since there's ablaut like 魚 (uo < uwo) and pR *iwo, and that the Kikai (Aden) form preserves the initial vowel of pR *tuyu (“dew”), along other dialects like Shuri, I shall move it back. Not sure if any dialectial Japanese form chiyo exists. Aramaki Morozov's account is still in complete radio silence. Chuterix (talk) 16:10, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
