Move from /mimi/ to /memi/?

[edit]

@Chuterix, what is your basis for this move? ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 08:34, 13 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Chuterix, since Proto-Japonic /i/ is also reflected as Japanese and Ryukyuan /i/, there is no apparent reason to reconstruct this with a medial /e/. Given also the propensity for reduplication in Japonic word formation, /memi/ is circumstantially less likely than /mimi/.
Could you please explain your reasoning? ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 03:33, 27 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
