@Victar Hi. We don't have two words for this in old Iranian. We only have wiĉapuθráh (in all recourse we have wiĉapuθráh not wiĉpuθráh). AryamanA moved this page wrongly. Form without 'a' is a Middle Iranian form (removing a is a normal change). So classical Syriac or Sogdian are from Middle Iranian not old Iranian directly. Thanks. --Calak (talk) 08:52, 7 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Calak:, your reconstruction was with the full case ending *-ah in the first element, was most certainly incorrect. @AryamanA was right to move it. As far as I know, in PIr compounds, when the first element is a consonant stem, a thematic vowel isn't inserted in. That sounds more like a behavior of Middle Iranian, which causes me to think those are later constructions. I could be wrong though. Do you have any other examples of this? --Victar (talk) 13:31, 7 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
